Read & Relax

Hey everybody! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Mine was pretty hectic but I still managed to visit my parents and Eero's parents, which was nice since it was Father's Day here in Finland. But today is my day off and while Eero is going to watch Jarkko Nieminen and Roger Federer play tennis, I think I'll dedicate my evening to reading and relaxing.

I've recently been reading novels quite a bit and thought I'd tell you something about the books I've read incase you're looking for a good book to read :)

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
It took me three days to read this book. It just got me addicted straight away. The storyline doesn't sound too interesting: a woman travels to London and back home everyday with the exact same train and seeks for the same people from the same house on her journey. But the story becomes very quickly a lot more twisted than that!

The Silent Tide by Rachel Hore
The book tells the story of two different women who live in different periods of time. They both work in the field of editing and somehow their stories come together. I struggled with the beginning of this book, but after the boring part where the main characters are intoduced, it got really intriguing!

Death at SeaWorld by David Kirby
This I am reading at the moment. I don't know why, but Killer Whales have started to interest me lately quite a bit. I've never seen one, I have never before been very interested in them but they do look magnificent and beautiful and I'd definitely love to see some in real life. In the wild! I must say, I've never studied them and I don't know too much about their ways of life but I do know they are big mammals. And I think anybody can see they're too big to be living in a pool. I'm all in for research and stuff, just as long as it's done ethically correctly. The book is all about the captive killer whales. It has made me feel quite angry sometimes, but it's just so interesting I must read it. And I definitely recommend it to everybody!

Let me know if you've read any of these books and what you thought of them! And have a nice week peeps :)

  1. I think it's lovely to just relax with a favourite book and enjoy a quiet evening from time to time! x Sounds like you had a busy week, after all! x I'm not much into books myself, but I really enjoy relaxing evenings when I can curl up with my boyfriend, watch a film and binge on Pizza Hut, haha. ;)

Thanks for following me on bloglovin', followed you back! x

  4. I've loved killer whales ever since I was 8 years old. I used to go to the library and spend hours in the marine life section reading up on killer whales and other whales. I still do at times. When I was that age, my parents would take me to Seaworld and I'd almost cry with joy getting to see Shamu up close. Twenty years later as an adult, though, I hate Seaworld. After seeing The Cove and Blackfish, I could never support that again. I'm just happy that the world is starting to wake up to this.

    1. My thoughts exactly. Those two films really opened my eyes, before them I basically hadn't even thought about those beautiful creatures.

  5. Such a lovely post, Wellemma! I like to know what others are reading and I'm always looking for suggestions; I'm an avid reader! I've never read any of the ones you've mentioned, but I'll look into that first book, I'm curious to know what that twist is exactly!

Have a great day, girlie, and thanks for sharing these awesome reads!

    1. One book per month sounds like something I could try as well. I always seem to read in intervals: sometimes I read loads and then sometimes not at all :D So maybe on book every month would be nicely in between! The Twenties Girls sounds nice, maybe I should check it out too :) xxx
