Christmas TAG

I really wanted to add some pictures of our Christmas decorations into todays post, but as I said in my lates video: "there is NO light in this country at the moment"! Oh well. Today I'm anyway going to do a tag, because I think they're so much fun! Since you all shared with me your favourite things about Christmas lately in my little giveaway, I thought it was my turn to share mine now. This tag is called The Christmas Tag, which I saw on  the Confessions of a Nagging Mother -blog. Here goes.

Favourite Christmas movie?
Love actually. Colin Firth and the little boy are my fave characters! And I also absolutely must mention The Snowman. It's the best ever!

Do you open your Christmas presents in the morning or afternoon?
In Finland, we open our presents on the 24th. Father Christmas visits us a day earlier than the UK, which I guess makes sense since he lives here ;) Anyways I think I like the British way better, because here we open the presents in the evening and have to go through Christmas dinner before that and the wait is looooong! I'd rather have the presents in the morning and then relax with the food :D

Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
Oh yes! As a kid we used to spend every other Christmas in England and I remember us going for a drive to Central London on Christmas day in the evening, when there was nobody else around. We went to see all the Christmas lights and they are so beautiful in London <3

Favourite festive food?
Mince pies are delicious! And the Finnish equivalent to them are called joulutorttu, which I enjoy even more. They're not exactly the same and instead of having mince meat in the center, they are filled with plum marmalade. With a srinkle of icing sugar on top, they taste heavenly! I could eat 10 in a row. They are my greatest motivation at the gym this time of the year haha!

Favourite Christmas gift?
I can't and won't pick one! As a child I got more excited about everything, such as a huge Barbie airplane and THE Furby (mine was called Coco and it was pink). But they're not quite as practical as the gifts I've received as an adult :D

Favourite Christmas scent?
The Pomander ball! Basically it's an orange pierced by cloves. The scent is Christmas itself!

Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
As I said above, we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve in Finland, so yes, a lot of traditions. In the morning we watch The Snowman and a program called (loosely translated) Santa's hotline (children call Father Christmas, who answers the phone on telly, how exciting :D ). Then we go to the sauna, chill, have dinner, open pressies, have dessert and chill some more.

What tops your tree?
A small silvery star. We only have a mini tree in our mini flat so the star is fairly mini too :)

What's the best part of Christmas for you?
I have two words: Family & Food. Nothing beats them <3

Now I shall start my weekend with a huge bag of pick'n'mix sweeties and watch a film. Have a lovely weekend everybody <3

PS. Next week I'll have a special little guest aka the newest addition to the family visiting my blog hihi <3 I can't wait!!

    Musings & More

    1. Hehe, it must be so, I can't think of any other explanation why we get presents on the 24th and in the Uk on the 25th. Love Actually is sooooo goood!!
