Three Things

I've seen this challenge around a lot in other blogs lately and thought it would be nice to do over here on my own one as well. If you're up for a little challenge, feel free to do this too :) The photos were taken last week when our back garden still looked like winter wonderland. Unfortunately wonderland melted away in less than a week, so I'm super glad I went and took these photos when I did. Hope you enjoy them too :)

3 things I like
London
Instructing fitness classes
Mango

3 things I don't like
Mean people
Washing up clothesor putting them back in my wardrobe. So instead I tend to have a floordrobe :)
Pink and red together

3 things I did last weekend
Watched X-factor (Go Saara!!)
Took my bunny for a walk in the snow
Did a morning workout

3 things I can do
Splits
Touch my nose with my tongue
Make the bed every morning. It's a bit of an obsession.

3 things I can't do
Sewing or knitting
Play an instrument
Play playstation haha (except actually I once played a lot of Final Fantasy X... probably wouldn't know how to anymore though)

3 things I'd like to learn
Stand on my hands for more than 10 seconds
Sing
To instruct Sh'bam classes

3 things I should do
Plan lessons
Clean up the clothes on our bedroom floor
Stop picking my cuticles

3 things that stress me out
Work
An unmade bed!!!
Our holiday in February, because we haven't decided where to spend it :D

3 things I often speak of
My fitness classes  (my snapchat is usually full of this :D)
The weather (lol how British of me)
London

Hope you enjoyed this little challenge and let me know if you do it too. It was honestly rather hard to think 3 things in some of the categories!

Have a lovely weekend chickpeas<3

ps. I bet you tried touching your nose with your tongue earlier ;)

Lifesavers! - products I've used up & re-purchased

There's something very satisfactory in using a product to it's very end. That's how you know you've really loved the product and it was worth every single penny. Using a product for a really long time also makes me really sad when I finally have to throw it away. I like to cling on to the very last bits of products I love, even though I must admit using a powder that has just tiny strips of product at the edges of the container is a teeny bit frustrating and it makes you want to give up and just start a new product. But the pleasure of hitting pan is kind of multiplied when the whole bottom of the container is visible. I also have a love and hate relationship with almost used up shampoos. I have a thing for using them too to the very last drop, which often requires opening the bottle at the end, adding some water and washing your hair with diluted shampoo. Not the most pleasant way to wash your hair but I don't want to leave that last drop of product unused! It would be such a waste.

So here are a couple of things I've found worth re-purchasing.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

This stuff is just amazingly good. It's cheap, the shade Transparent basically suits anybody and it makes even my difficult and oily skin matte for quite some time. What more do you want from a powder? The packaging might not be the best as it doesn't come with a mirror and I almost always brake the lid at some point, so there's a big chance it might mess up your handbag if you're carrying it around. If Rimmel changes that, it would be perfection. Ofcourse, considering the cheap price, I don't want to complain too much, because the truth still is, that every time I buy a powder, this is what I go for. One container also lasts for ages! I use mine once or twice every day all around my face and I probably had the last one for a bit more than a year.

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer

For anybody who works hard and a lot, dark undereyes aren't exactly unknown. I think I'm also genetically cursed blessed with them, so thanks Mum and/or Dad! :D Luckily the world is full of concealers and I feel even luckier that I've found this product. I bought my first Radiance Reveal concealer last January and again, the product has lasted really long. In fact up until last week so that's a good 10 months or so. The shade Ivory is the most perfect shade for covering those nasty dark circles and it truly lives up to its name and gives radiance! I find that it stays on and put really nicely too. With some concealers I feel like I look like an old lady after the day is over, because they get into  even very fine lines and exaggerate  them. That doesn't happen with this one. The product smells of watermelon, which is a small bonus but obviously not a very important quality in a concealer. I will definitely continue using this and I'm so glad i already had a back up!

Urtekram Coconut Shampoo

If you watch my Youtube channel, you might remember me mentioning this in my September favourites. The product is an absolute bargain compared to how well it works and how good it is for your hair. It's made of natural ingredients so it has nothing extra and it smells mildly, but oh so nicely, of coconut. I also love the packaging, because it's white and neat. We live in a rental apartment which has horrible, very 90's-ish yellow walls and a floor, so as I can't change them, I'm making everything else in the room white (other than that, I'm really fond of our apartment <3). The bottle is also small enough to carry around if you need to (to the gym etc).

Have you tried any of these products?
Do you have any lifesaver products? Which ones do you always re-purchase?

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend<3

My weekly workouts

Today I've decided to talk to you about one of my favourite things in the whole wide world, which is by no doubt working out! I know autumn is the time to get cozy under a blanket and it's definitely another fave thing to do during this season, as I mentionet in my 5 fave autumnal things post. I could definitely spend a good few hours just doing nothing without guilt. But the reality remains that you need to exercise and I'm certain we all know why.

I'm 27...what next? A bucket list and other personal ponders

I turned 27 yesterday. Next year I'll be 27, again. And after that.. oh yeah, 27. Isn't this the age, when you magically stop getting older? Not to mention the dangerousness of the age..if I were a rock star that is. You could call this an age crisis post, which I of course don't have. 30 is still far away. Isn't it?!

5 Fave Autumnal Things

I bet many of us can agree, when I say autumn is beautiful and definitely needed. If you ask me autumn should just continue until it's spring again. Who needs winter and -20 degrees in their lives? That would obvisouly be ecologically messed up, so in all honesty, I'm very glad we still have a season we can gladly call winter with all that snow. That being here, up north, where I live. But autumn is amazing. I feel like spring and summer are the seasons to get up, go and do, but autumn is all about relaxing, getting cosy and pampering, which in my opinion sounds just perfect. Listing just five things I like about this season, was honestly blooming hard work haha, there are so many things I could have mentioned, but these are definitely my faves and they are in no particular order.

New season, new hair, new me!

Heeeeello!

Well hasn't it been a while. How are you all? Are you all excited about autumn? Because oh boy, I am!
I feel like no explanations of why I haven't posted are needed, I've kind of been on about it a lot before, so check out my older posts and youtube channel if you're new here and want to know more. :) What's important is that I'm back now, full of ideas and energy. Believe me, every day I was away from my blog, I missed it. And what made me want to come back so bad was you guys <3 Thank you for all the kind messages, tweets and e-mails you have sent me. I love you all so so much <3

So here we go, let's get on with todays post! I actually wanted to come and chat to you about my new look, because I recently went to the hairdressers and had a bit of snippedy snip happen. I was super nervous about it, because usually, when I seldom go to the hairdressers I come back home quite upset. Once I, with my very long hair, asked the hair dresser to cut it short but not so short that I couldn't have it all up in a pony tail. Well guess what happened... I left the place in tears. Another time, about a year ago, I was again about to cut my hair from very long to shorter. I sat into the scary hairdressers chair and before I had the chance to express what I wanted, the hairdresser said, that surely I didn't want to cut my lovely long hair shorter. Well, no, not after that comment haha. So I left the hairdressers with no change at all and felt like I had wasted my time.

Swing Workout Video

Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's been two weeks since my last post. Gosh... As I mentioned in that latest post of mine, I have a new job and because we're not getting the keys to our new apartment until the second week of September, me and my hubby are living at my parents house during the weeks. And we've been spending the weekends at our own flat in Turku mainly packing. So life has seriously been happening. But I promise I have been thinking of you chickpea babes every single day <3 I just haven't really had the energy to blog. But I'm hoping it will all get easier as I get into the routine more and more.

My parents live in a small village. It's not too far away from the great facilites of Helsinki and Espoo, but for a quick workout, the gyms are kind of too far away. And that inspired me to think of a workout which you could do at home (or at the playground if you wish) without getting your hands too dirty! I called it the swing workout, because the only equipment I used was an actual swing in the garden. Fresh air, toning and fun movements...is there anything better?

You could choose to either read this post to learn more about the workout or scroll down and watch my video for a real time workout. Obviously doing both is allowed too :)

Holy Grail Makeup Products

Hey chickpeas <3 I'm here for just a quick update AND a new video. Basically I now have a new job and we have a new flat, which we will hopefully be moving into in a couple of weeks! YAAAAAY ... oh wait, that means I should start packing :D Oh and also, I get to continue instructing fitness classes in Helsinki! SUPERYAY!

As for the video, it's all about the makeup I love the mostEST. The best of the best and ever more. If I hadn't ever gone way overboard with my makeup collection and become a serious hoarder, the products on the video would be the ones I'd survive with.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! What are you guys up to? :)
Love you all <3

Hey chickpeas <3 My life has gone from holiday mode to superduper hectic in less than a week, which is the reason why I haven't been replying to comments, answering e-mails or anything else related to blogging. I'm sorry and I honestly miss my blogging routines, but please bear with me for a while. Some pretty big changes are about to happen in my life and they've come as quite a surprise to myself as well. Thoughts on Online Hatred & Giving Feedback

I've got my first share of it. Thanks to the "you're so fake" comments on my Youtube channel, I've been really thinking about online manners and how I could understand comments like that, or even more importantly, the people who comment things like that. Although the comment is totally unworthy and there's not much to work on there, I think there must be some sort of a thought behind it, probably even something really deep and problematic. If nothing else, it made me think and want to write about it.

Going on holiday

Guess what chickpeas? I'm off for a holiday in Greece tomorrow! I'm super excited and can't wait to swim in the ocean, relax on the beach and enjoy the company of my one and only <3 We haven't been planning on this holiday for too long, which is why I feel like I haven't prepared myself well enough. I usually have very clear day to day schedules when I travel, however this time I have no plans what so ever! Although I did actually buy a huge watermelon pool float, I guess that could count as some sort of a plan haha.

Bloggingwise my holiday means a bit of a break for me. I do however have a very interesting post scheduled for you guys while I'm away and also a video will be going up on my Youtube channel, remember to check it out too! I might reply to comments, if I have the time and energy and wifi. But I'll definitely get back to you after my week in the sunshine, so if you have questions, requests or just want to say hi, please do <3

Hope you babes have a lovely week <3 love you all lots!

Loose Wavy Curls

*In collaboration with Irresistible Me*

July is here and with it I hope for lots of beach appropriate weather! Although as me and my hubby just booked a holiday to Greece, I'll be definitely be getting my vitamin D this summer. I can't wait to discover the little island we're going on and to blog and vlog about it too! Yaaaayyy!! :)

I've been getting a lot of questions lately about the hairstyle I'm wearing in the picture on the right (my blog profile pic if you may). And so I thought I'd show you how it's done but I promise, it's super easy. If I can do it, anybody can because I'm by no means a hair dresser. I'm very lazy when it comes to styling my hair, but I promise loose and wavy curls are perfect for anybody like me.

First Wedding Anniversary: what I learned in my first year as a wife

Exactly one year ago I was getting ready for the most exciting day of my life and for the great adventure after it. The day started off a bit cloudy and rainy, but as me and my now hubby first saw each other on our wedding day, the rain almost magically stopped.

Our wedding day was perfect and just what we had wished for. We planned everything from A to Z ourselves and put a lot of effort into every little detail, which made it easy for us to just enjoy the actual wedding day. A year later I can say it was the perfect start for a wonderful journey and I can't wait for more adventures with my main cuddle<3

Help for oily skin

For the past couple of months my skin has been going a bit cray cray. And not the fun kind of crazy! It's been oily, I've had a lot of breakouts and my pores have seemed to grown. Just in time for summer too...."yay". Frustration has been maximised at times, because at the age of 26 I should probably be looking more into anti-aging products, not going back to oily skin products, which way too often are targeted for teenagers. And of course many anti-aging products contain oils and emollients, which I definitely need to keep away from. But I've also learned a couple of helpful tricks and tips and of course I want to share them with you.

Irresistible Me Sapphire 8 in 1 Curler review

Let's talk hair.

*In collaboration with Irresistible Me*
I'm no hairdresser, and I have basically no experience with doing hair, with the exception of my own hair of course. So let's start off with my hair. Mine is very very straight, slippery and long. Probably the most annoying combo you can think of because although it's slippery, it gets tangled very easily because it's long. It also likes to stick to the sides of my head no matter how much I backcomb it. However there's no way I'm cutting it shorter any time soon. I've done so a couple of times and was not happy with the outcome.

May Faves 2016

It's that time of the month again. You know, the end of the month haha. It's time to look back on May, and this time I really enjoyed thinking about the past month. May was great. It's definitely my all time fave month ever because everything seems so alive and positive.

During May I visited London (which is always super fun) and celebrated my graduation from uni with my family. The only downside was that my skin went crazy, and if it used to be mildly oily before, well, now I only dream of mild oilyness. So I've tried a couple of things to save my skin on my face. If you watch my video, you will find out about how my month was in general and what I've been loving in the month of May :)

Get Ready With Me: Uni Graduation Party

I can't believe five years has past since I started my studies. I also can't believe how much I've changed in that time. When I started uni, I thought I'd fail in the first two years because I had to give a ten minute speech.
I survived.
I then thought I would never survive standing in front of a classroom full of children and adults observing me for a week.
I survived again.
And finally I thought I would never ever be able to write a master's thesis correctly and finish it.
But again, I did it.
Also, I never thought I'd find my future husband from uni and get married during it.
I did, and I'm the happiest girl because of it<3

Too Faced Sweet Peach palette

Since it's currently raining cats and dogs outside, I thought I'd share something colourful with you today. On my recent trip to London I visited the Too Faced counter in Debenhams on Oxford Street. The counter is basically tiny, but I guess that only makes it easier to find what you're looking for. Incase you aren't familiar with Too Faced as a brand (it's definitely time you get to know them!), they are a super fun and girly, cruelty-free cosmetics brand. Their products and packaging are joyful and reflect some serious positive vibes! Some of their most known products are the Chocolate Bar eye shadow palettes, Better Than Sex mascara and Melted lipsticks.

What do you have planned for the weekend?

As it's Friday, it means it's video day as well. Today I have a Primark haul for you. I always visit Primark, when I visit London. I usually go crazy in there and just buy everything I like, because it's so cheeapp, but this time I'd say I was more on the sensible side and purchased ony things I liked A LOT! So yay for me, I guess shopping is something you can get better at too haha :D

I have never classified myself as a tourist over there, but if you've never visited London, then here are some good reasons why you should do so:

I am currently vlogging so you'll be able to see what I get up to while I'm here and I believe a haul or two might be in order once I get back home!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

I have found a new fave! And I've been wearing it constantly since I accidentally bumped into a NYX counter, which had just arrived to where I live. Needless to say I got excited. I had been eyeing the NYX soft matte lip creams online for quite some time and had been so close to ordering some, and now that they were physically in front me, I couldn't resist them. So I went and bought four different shades. Woopsy daisy.

Happy Friday everybody! I hope you've had a good week and you're about to have an even better weekend! To start the weekend off I have a sneaky little video for you and I dedicate this to anybody who is nosy. Haha. I bet that's most of us.

A lady's handbag is always one big mystery. You never know what's actually in there and it's so funny how every handbag post or video you read or watch is different. It's like a piece of personality, and you definitely can't go anywhere without it (your personality or your bag haha). So I've decided to reveal what's in my bag.

Blogging activated

Now that I'm back I want to write what my thesis is all about and what I've been researching for the past couple of years. This won't be a recap of my whole thesis, instead I want to adapt the main idea suitable for bloggers :)

The main subject of my thesis is physical activity, it's benefits and how to increase the level of it, as the honest truth is that too many of us sit inactively too much everyday. A very little percentage of us gain enough physical activity daily. Physical inactivity has very clear effects on health and many health issues could be prevented with even a small increase in physical activity levels.

Sitting has also been discovered to be very unhealthy. And that's where bloggers come into the game. Hands up if you sit when you blog! I bet most of us do. Lying down isn't much better. The bad news is that sitting down for many hours cannot be compensated with a long run or fitness class or session at the gym. The good news is there's something else you can do!

My makeup collection & storage

I'm back and so super excited to be so! I've missed blogging so much! My thesis isn't ready just yet, but we presented it yesterday for the last time and the feedback was so good that I decided it was time to come back. I wanted to  make up for the time we've lost over here and decided to come back with a big bang (haha, how dramatical): so I filmed my makeup collection and storage system for you  and the video is super long! So grab a cuppa and a snack, sit down and enjoy!

PAUSE

I feel like an explanation is in order as my regular three posts a week has changed into one a week. There is one, very life related reason for that: my thesis. I only have a couple of weeks more to work on it and I am drowning under all the work. So I guess you could say that life is happening hardcore at the moment. And unfortunately it has to come first right now.

To be very honest, researching isn't my favourite thing to do. It requires a lot of sitting down whereas I'm much more of a doer and goer. And that is why this is taking so much of my energy and time. However I can't run from the fact that it needs to be done. I'd probably have quit long ago unless I was writing it with my husband though. Doing it together gives a small feeling of group pressure and I will finish it even if helping the other person might be my only reason for doing so.

Writing a master's thesis with your husband is a whole other story. One of my colleagues referred to it as building a house together, which many of us know can go so very wrong in terms of maintaining a good relationship. It has been stressful, I'll admit that. I mean, just imagine yourself  working with your husband or boyfriend! Especially working on something that you don't particularly enjoy. It's like mixing the thing you love most with the thing you love least together and the result being something in between those two. Doesn't sound too bad for the thesis, but definitely not so good for your love life. But I also think I couldn't have done it with anybody else and he's the best support ever <3

So I've decided to pause my blog for a little while. Just a week or two, I couldn't stay away any longer. But I also don't want the quality or content of my blog to suffer, just because I have to write something and haven't had the time to think or plan what to write about. I hope you all understand this. I actually know you will, because you're all the best <3 :)

If you want to know what I'm up to, I'll probably be snapchating a lot and I also can't seem to stay away from Instagram either. So go follow me there and let me know your links too, so I can follow you :)

Why & how I workout

After a chocolate filled Easter it's good to talk about sweating again, eh? :D However yummy and delicious all the Easter treats were this year, nothing in this world beats the good feeling after an amazing workout. At least not for me. It's a mixture of pleasure, happiness and proudness. I'm so crazy into it that even the pain during a workout can give me goosebumps of excitement sometimes. As they say, no pain no gain. Working out is a big part of my life and it almost always has been.

However that doesn't mean I don't ever have difficulties to leave the very comfortable corner of the sofa and warmth of a blanket. I do and sometimes lazy girl takes over and instead of doing my planned workout, I stay home and watch loads of Youtube. It happens and it's ok as long as I still move often enough. What does help me get off my bum though are my goals.

It's Easter time! Yaaay! That means of course a lot of chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies and, in our family, real bunnies. Or one bunny to be precise. If you've been following the blog long enough and if you follow me on Snapchat (wellemma1) you might very well know that me and my husband own a pet rabbit. I probably post about her way too much on my Snapchat to be honest haha. But I haven't actually blogged about her properly after we got her home (read and watch Buying a pet rabbit).

4 Super Quick & Easy hairstyles

I dedicate my time in the mornings to breakfast and makeup, and especially the latter takes a ridiculous amount of it. And so hair is something I very easily have hardly any time for and end up either doing nothing or putting quite a minimum effort into it. Doing nothing can look a bit catastrophic, since my hair is so long, slippery and straight, but even a minimum effort can change it all totally! And so I thought I'd share with you my favourite superduper quick hairstyles. I'm sure I'm not the only person in this world who feels like mornings are too short!

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment

Who else loves taking their makeup off after a long day? Because I just absolutely love it. Although putting makeup on is something that I love doing in the morning and use a ridiculous amount of time doing so, taking it off in the evening feels like having a picnic in a lovely park: it basically makes me happy. I've been putting a lot of effort into my skincare routine lately and I think my skin is starting to thank me. I'd love to show you the whole routine at some point but before I do so, let me tell you a couple of things about my fave part of the whole routine: eye cream! Spring Makeup Tutorial

I'm very much and totally a spring person. You know how some people start blogging about Christmas early? Well it seems that I'm doing the exact same thing with spring. Officially and astronomically spring starts on the 20th of March and technically, that's not so far away anymore! Tbh though, my spring started the second March started and I'm going to enjoy it for as long as possible. Even if I'm just kidding myself that winter is over haha.

With spring comes pastel shades, warmer weather and lighter makeup. I created a look which reminded me of the sunlight that I haven't seen in a while :D It's light, natural and still super fun. Watch my video to see how I created the look!

Who doesn't love a good nude? They make lips look even, full and give a slight shade too. They are perfect for every occasion from first date to job interview. They're sophisticated yet they add a little extra to every day. I myself have a very strong relationship towards nude lipsticks. My dear hubby always says I have too many and they all look the same. But with all the lovely nude shades in this world, how can a girl pick just one? My answer: she (me) can't! :D But I have picked my 5 favourite nude lipsticks in my collection.

These are lipsticks I love and wear super regularly over all the other nude shades I have. I think they are all different to each other in terms of shade and formula. Beauty bloggers often refer to as "the perfect" nude, and these are the ones I've found are the best. And by the way, these are in no particular order, I love them all equally <3

SHY

Shyness has been on my mind a lot lately. I've mentioned it in some of my videos and you guys have also mentioned it in your comments. I know now there are a lot of shy people in this world and when I was younger I wished for some better advice on it than "be brave". That never helped me, because I didn't know how to do so. Confidence is something that builds up when you grow and get older, but I still wish somebody had told me a couple of tips.

And so I went a little back down memory lane and gave a very hard thought on what I had actually done. For the record, I used to have problems with starting a conversation or joining in one. Especially in large groups. Being the center of attention and saying something out loud was a nightmare for me. From that, I've somehow managed to become a fitness instructor, a teacher, a blogger and a youtuber. All things which require being in front of other people and express yourself verbally. That didn't happen all in one day and I've definitely had to consciously work hard for that.

Being shy isn't a negative thing and please never feel like you have to get rid of it. You probably won't even if you try. And if you feel comfortable with yourself the way you are, then that is more than ok. For me though, I always felt like I wasn't being myself around other people and I felt like they didn't get to know me and I didn't get to know them. I still am shy and very often feel insecure, but I've learnt to control it, live with it and not let it stop me from doing what I want to do.

I filmed a video with three tips for anybody who wants to gain more confidence. I learned these along the way, and as I said, whish somebody had given me a hint somewhere in the past about how to live with shyness. So here I am giving you that hint and I hope it helps you. Just remember, you are awesome just the way you are, as long as you are happy with yourself. <3

I'd love to hear your thoughts on shyness!
Do you feel shy?
Have you ever wanted to not be shy?
How have you gained more confidence?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Love you!
