TOP 2 affordable foundations

Foundations are probably one of my favourite makeup product to try on, along with lipsticks and blushers. I instantly know if a foundation is good or not for me, just after one day of wearing it. In comparison, I always wait a few weeks before giving a verdict to a mascara. Of course a foundation can do things to the skin, which is why I also like to be patient with foundations.

I have been in search of the best affordable / drugstore / high street foundation for some time now and finally think I can let you guys know, which ones I prefer over every other foundation in Boots and Superdrug and Walgreens and Citymarket... I went for two different ones because, I don't know about your skin, but mine can decide to be oily and full of break outs the other day and close to perfect the other. It probably all depends on the ever so lovely hormones.
But on to the topic now! My two fave ever foundations from the drugstore are the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum and the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation. Here are the reasons why.

The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum is a light coverage foundation with a half-matte finish. Having a very fair skin tone, I'm really grateful for the shade 51 Light Vanilla, since it's so perfect on my skin. It's also available in 6 other shades, which I actually think is quite little, so I'm lucky to have my perfect one included. The foundation is long lasting, although let's keep in mind that I always wear a primer underneath. The two best things about this product are definitely the formula and the scent. I love how it evens the skin and still is very light weight, which is why it's my go-to foundation at the moment on those good skin days. It's also very quickly becoming a holy-grail product, over taking even some high end foundations of mine. The scent, however maybe not the most important feature in a foundation, is SO good! And it sure makes my day start with a smile on my face!

The Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation then again claims to be full coverage product enriched with comfort serum and with a lasting power of 25 hours. Again, I can't say anything about 25 hours, but what I can say is that it survived a super sweaty Body Combat class and that's saying something! It didn't last for the rest of the day after that though, no worries: I wash my face after working out haha :D The coverage of this foundation is definitely super good! Especially if applied with a buffing or stippling brush. I usually have no problems covering break outs with this, but I have a couple of beauty spots on my face and I haven't been able to cover them properly with this. The finish is definitely matte, which is why it's so perfect for those oily-skin days, when my skin just shines naturally to the moon and back. So basically, this has been a life saver and I love it!

Have you tried these foundations? What do you think of them?
What is your fave ever affordable foundation?

Hugs and kisses my lovelies <3

    1. It's so good, I'm sure you'll love it! I've heard the Nude one, with the white cork, is better for dryer skin. So depending on your skin type, pick one of them :)

  6. I've heard such amazing things about the Healthy Mix foundation, but the one time I've tried it, it totally didn't work for me (it ended up looking cakey and patchy). I'm thinking maybe I should try to give it a shot again, because everyone seems to rave about it, and I guess it has been a while since I've last tried it. <3 x x I haven't tried the Rimmel one before but it does sound amazing, and I may give it a go. :) Thanks for sharing, hun! Hope you've had a fab week. x

  7. I so love the healthy mix! It's my perfect foundation in that price range! I really wish I could get the Rimmel one in my shade though, no matter which one I go for I end up orange - perks of being so pale!
