4 reasons why you should visit London & VLOG

I got back home from London a few days ago. And I'm already planning to go back haha. For me it's obviously a second home as I've been going and staying there since I was three months old. I have some seriously lovely memories from that place and I will always keep going back. Until I live there. I have never classified myself as a tourist over there, but if you've never visited London, then here are some good reasons why you should do so:

1. Lots to see & do
As they say, when you are tired of London, you are tired of life. London offers something for everybody. And although I've visited the city countless amount of times, I always find something new to do and things to discover. For history lovers there are multiple attractions to discover. If you like to visit museums, you have multiple choices and most of them have free entrance! Just walking down the streets and strolling through parks can be pretty amazing.

2. Shopping
London has so much to offer in this category that I've almost lost interest in every other place to shop in this world. If you'd see the amount of stuff I bring back from London you'd probably be shocked. But I seriously almost never shop back at home.
Oxford street is obviously amazing and you can find every shop you've ever dreamed of there or close by. For makeup lovers, the Superdrug close to Marble Arch is fantastic! All workout freaks will be happy to know there's a 4 story Nike Town at Oxford Circus. Clothingwise my fave store is definitely the Topshop at Oxford Circus. And I could spend so much time in the Lush store! But both Westfield shopping centres in White City and Stratford are my faves too! They're also less crowded than the tourist-y Oxford Street.

3. West End musicals
Even if you're not "a musical kind of person", I would still suggest you check out one of London's amazing shows. I love the ones with huge, amazing songs and lots of dancing, such as Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera and Lion King. But I took my husband, who wasn't very excited about Wicked, to see Stomp and he enjoyed it a lot! So again, I bet there's something for everybody.

4. People
Needless to say, London is crowded. Not just by tourists but by citizens as well. If you're not a huge fan of crowds, then no worries, just start your days earlier than anybody else and you'll be alright. Even the Primark at Marble Arch can be an alright experience at 10am. Go any later and it turns into a nightmare :D (mind you, the store down at Tottenham Court Road is waaaay better!).
But it's not the amount of people that amazes me, it's the atmosphere they've created. People are so nice over there! It's probably a cultural difference, but for example, when I've traveled by myself, I have never had to carry my luggage up any stairs. At bus stops, people might start a casual small talk and I never feel lonely over there.

As promised, I also have a VLOG for you from my latest trip. Be prepared for a lot of rambling alá moi! Haha. Hope you enjoy it :)

Have you visited London? If yes, what's you're fave thing about the city? If not, what would you do there?
Are you a "musical" person?
How do you handle crowds?

I hope you're weekend is full of sunshine lovelies <3

  5. It's funny what you said about people, because that is one thing I hate about London, how people wont talk, and don't help.. it drives me crazy. But I'm used to Scotland where everyone talks to everyone, I go to London about once every 5 years, spend a few days there completely overwhelmed by everything, but I hate being crowded or feeling like im lost, I also hate stuffy atmospheres and lack of wind,,, so it really isn't the place for me! haha. I would absolutely love it if it had less people, and everyone wasn't in such a hurry.. but I do love watching vlogs of people in London, I love the shopping and the culture, it just looks incredible, but I really plays up my anxiety!

    1. I guess I get your point. I bet that's the situation everywhere. I mean I could say the exact same things about Helsinki that you said about London. But then again my comparison is Finland and we are known for our "fear" of small talk :D basically we don't do it...ever! :D If somebody started talking to you at a bus stop in Finland it would be super weird. Whereas in London it feels totally normal and I love it <3 I also kind of love the hurrying. I'm always in a hurry myself and walk really fast everywhere but in London my pace is just normal :D I feel like at home there<3
But I totally understand your point there. I've only ever visited Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness in Scotland but loved them a lot too :) <3 Thanks for the comment Erin dear <3 xxx

  9. Yay, A VLOG!! :D Going to watch it today as soon as I'm on my lunch break. <3 So happy to hear you've enjoyed your trip so much, hun! And that you're planning to visit again. :D I agree with all your points, London is pretty awesome and there is just so much to do! What I really love about it is that most educational attractions like museums and galleries are free entry, which is lovely if you're on a budget! x x And yesss, the West End is totally awesome! Like you said, it's great even if you're not typically a musical person. :) I know I'm not, but I totally loved it when my boyfriend took me to see Chicago at the west end for my birthday a few years back! It's definietly an experience, isn't it. :) <3 So happy you enjoyed your trip and I'm looking forward to watching your vlog today! Thank you for sharing. :D Kisses! x x x

  11. I have ALWAYS wanted to go to London. My mom has been there during her flight attendant days. The places I have been in Europe are Paris, Zurich, Florence and Rome. I love Topshop (they sell it here in Nordstrom in the US) but I'm sure there are so many other brands out there. Your London is like my San Francisco, since I grew up in the area since I was 3, but I moved to Sacramento when I was 11...but since dating my now-fiance we've been going back to SF a lot because he knows how much wonderful memories I've had there. But we haven't gone because we're trying to cut back financially...but London and NYC is a much better comparison though!

    1. Hey cool! It's so nice to hear that I'm not the only one with special feelings for a place. I've been wondering whether I'm being silly about it. So thanks for sharing that Hannah <3 And guess what, I'd love to visit San Fransisco! If or when I go back to the US someday I'll definitely go there. Makes me think of the Princess Diaries :D <3
