Loose Wavy Curls

*In collaboration with Irresistible Me*

July is here and with it I hope for lots of beach appropriate weather! Although as me and my hubby just booked a holiday to Greece, I'll be definitely be getting my vitamin D this summer. I can't wait to discover the little island we're going on and to blog and vlog about it too! Yaaaayyy!! :)

I've been getting a lot of questions lately about the hairstyle I'm wearing in the picture on the right (my blog profile pic if you may). And so I thought I'd show you how it's done but I promise, it's super easy. If I can do it, anybody can because I'm by no means a hair dresser. I'm very lazy when it comes to styling my hair, but I promise loose and wavy curls are perfect for anybody like me.
In this tutorial I'm going to be using my Irresistible Me Sapphire 8 in 1 curler. You can read my review on it here. It came with 8 different barrels and for loose curls I always use the thickest one which is 32mm.

Starting point
My hair is naturally very straight and at the moment also very long, so there's a lot to work on. However these curls take me about 10 mins to do. I heat the wand to 188 degrees Celsius, so I definitely recommend spraying some sort of heat protection before curling your hair.

1.

The first thing I do is I divide my hair. I always part about 1/3 of my hair from the front to the side, and part the rest from the middle. That's because I want to have about as much hair on each side of my head but still like to have my side parting. I'm not too fussy about straight lines either, as you can probably tell from the picture above.

2.

Next I take a small section of my hair, brush through it to open any tangles and then take my heated curling wand into use. I'm not too fussy about the size of the hair sections and prefer to change it to create a more natural or messier look.

3.

I then roll my hair around the curler and leave it there for about 10-20 seconds. The thicker the hair section, the longer I let it stay around the curler.

4.

After that I let go of my hair and let the curl drop on to my open palm. I let it cool down a bit there for another 10-20 seconds. And I look like an emoji doing so. Although my hand doesn't quite bend as well as the emojis hand lol.

5.
After the first curl has cooled down a bit I let it down and move on to the rest of my hair and repeat parts 1-4 until I've curled every hair on my head.

6.

After I've curled all my hair I like to lock the curls with some sea salt spray. The one I like to use is the Sea Spray by Lush. It smells like a Mediterranean beach and makes my slippery hair stay curly longer than it normally would.

Ready!

And that's how I do my loose wavy curls. I might add some hair spray at the very end if the air feels very humid. But other than that, I'm good to go.  I'm loving big curls at the moment so much because they're so easy and quick to do and they look so chilled and relaxed but yet put together. The key thing to this look is definitely the thick curling wand and the amount of time you hold your hair on the curler. I'm so jelly of girls with curly hair. I could wear these everyday! <3

  2. I curl my hair pretty much the same way, minus the salt spray. That one is too drying for my already bleached strands.
