New season, new hair, new me!

Heeeeello!

Well hasn't it been a while. How are you all? Are you all excited about autumn? Because oh boy, I am!
I feel like no explanations of why I haven't posted are needed, I've kind of been on about it a lot before, so check out my older posts and youtube channel if you're new here and want to know more. :) What's important is that I'm back now, full of ideas and energy. Believe me, every day I was away from my blog, I missed it. And what made me want to come back so bad was you guys <3 Thank you for all the kind messages, tweets and e-mails you have sent me. I love you all so so much <3

So here we go, let's get on with todays post! I actually wanted to come and chat to you about my new look, because I recently went to the hairdressers and had a bit of snippedy snip happen. I was super nervous about it, because usually, when I seldom go to the hairdressers I come back home quite upset. Once I, with my very long hair, asked the hair dresser to cut it short but not so short that I couldn't have it all up in a pony tail. Well guess what happened... I left the place in tears. Another time, about a year ago, I was again about to cut my hair from very long to shorter. I sat into the scary hairdressers chair and before I had the chance to express what I wanted, the hairdresser said, that surely I didn't want to cut my lovely long hair shorter. Well, no, not after that comment haha. So I left the hairdressers with no change at all and felt like I had wasted my time.

This time it was all very different! I'm actually super happy with my hair now and feel like it's just the perfect length for me. Just the other day my hair came almost down to my belly button. I grew it that long because I wanted my hair to look amazing at my wedding. But the fact is, that such long hair requires loads of work; it took many minutes in the morning to sort out all the knots, washing it took ages and the amount of shampoo and conditioner I had to use was almost unbelievable. So even before my wedding I decided that after the knot was tied with my hubby, all the tangles would be cut off my hair. It's been way over a year since I got married so it was about time I did something about it.

I asked for a lot shorter, but still long hair, with no layers. And it's perfect. My hair looks and feels a lot healthier, brushing my hair is so easy and it's just the perfect match with my personality. It was also cut so that it's slightly longer from the front than from the back, which just enhances the fact that it's still long although about 20 cm was cut off. It's just brilliant and for all of those, who live in Finland, I really recommend cutting your hair at Ompun Torppa :)

Another thing I'm also very excited about is autumn. But I can assure you all I will be posting more on that topic very soon, so I'm not going to ramble on about it too much right now. Are you excited about autumn?

So glad to be back at what I love doing <3
Let me know babes what you all have been up to!
Have you had any bad/extra good experiences at the hair dressers?

Love you all and I hope you have a fab weekend <3

  2. Wow your hair looks gorgeous Emma! It's still long but as I you said I can imagine it's much more manageable. I've always loved my long hair and every time I asked for a slight cut (not too much) I left in tears because they cut it far too short. I know it's just hair but it's one thing that I like about me. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing experience (the latest one hahah) with us!

    1. I totally understand you Sophie! It's just hair but it's still a big deal, it's like cutting of a part of your personality. I know I could live without it if I absolutely had to but I don't want to ! I'm so happy that for once I got exactly what I wanted :) so worth it. Thanks for the lovely comment girlie <33 xxx

  3. Welcome back! I hope all is going well for you, are you settled down to your new place? Your hair looks beautiful. Whenever I went to hairdresser, I ended up leaving disappointed so I exactly know how you felt before. One time I wanted caramel hair and left the hair dresser with reddish hair... I was crying when I went home. Hairdressers don't seem to listen what you exactly want and do what they think would look right then it ends up being a total disaster. This length hair really suits you and your hair looks healthier, once in a while, it is good to cut the dead ends to make the hair look healthier :)
Autumn is one of my favourite season so I am happy that it is finally here :)
    Have a great weekend! x

    1. Thank you lovely <3 I'm so happy to finally be back! We're settling down, slowly but surely :) still a couple of boxes to be unpacked but I love the new flat and our new home city <3
I swear, if I had any idea how, I would always cut my hair myself :D because I totally agree with you, there always seems to be a bit of a communication problem between me and my hairdressers! Except this time :)
Thanks for popping by sweetie <3 xxx

  4. I am so so soooo happy to be here reading an update from you, sweetie!! Yay!!! Welcome back, my darling. You look absolutely gorgeous!! I love the new hair and how you still kept it long but shorter (if that makes sense lol) and it definitely suits you so perfectly. I haven't had much luck yet finding a local hairdresser I would be crazy about but I guess sometimes it just takes more time and effort. Have to keep looking :) How's your new apartment, sweetie? Are you all settled? Hope you managed to get a bit of a balance with work. I know so so well how demanding it is. Teaching is extremely difficult but so rewarding <3 I know you're doing your absolute best, and keep at it, my hunnie!! I am always be here to support you <3 <3 <3

    1. Yaaay thank you the sweetest comment <3 I got really lucky with my hairdresser, I must admit. I never go to the same one twice because I never sadly like them, but this time I honestly think I'll go back! :) the new apartment is so nice hon <3 I love that we have more room now, but there are a couple of boxes lying around and waiting to be unpacked still :D I just haven't had the time! And work is getting, not exactly easier, but I'm getting more used to it everyday. It's definitely hard work and on many days, when I get home I just want to eat and collapse on my bed haha :D talk about giving everything...but I'm enjoying it too and I'm learning to so much myself as well. I'm so glad I have a friend like you to support me and who to chat to <3 can't wait for that skype chat!!! Love you lots sweetie<33 xxx

    1. Thanks lovely <3 Ha, I know that feeling. And I still feel very strongly about my hair hehe. But I knew mine wasn't in a very good condition and it was starting to annoy me more than please me so in the end the decision was easy. I probably would have cut it earlier if I knew myself how to :D but I'm really happy how everything turned out :))
Have a lovely day girlie :) xxx

  9. So happy and excited to see you back, hun! Missed you and your blog so much. <3 And can I just say, your new haircut looks beautiful and suits you so well! I can definitely relate to your hairdressers experiences, also... I'm so scared of them! My hair is super long as well and I'd probably cut it by now, but I just don't trust hairdressers at all, so I cut my own ends once every few months. :) I've had some pretty bad experiences... Glad you're happy with your last one!! It sure looks gorgeous. :) I hope things are going well your end, darling, love ya tons. x x

Hair is just so important! I've also cut my own ends but the result is always almost hilarious :D but your hair is so beautiful! I love it <3

  11. Emma! Your hair looks lovely!!! I totally can feel your pain in regards to going to get your hair done. It's a constant struggle for me to find a good hairdresser. Recently, I found a lady through a colleague of mine and I like her cause she's reasonable in comparison to the lady I used to see. But right now, I am wanting a bit of a drastic hair color change (I am going through one of my moments of wanting to drastically change my hair) and I don't this lady can do it so I am keeping my eyes peeled for some good options. I think it's fantastic you got a new hair do/ look for the new season! You look so beautiful and I am glad it turned out the way you wanted it to! By the way, you have a great blog! I am going to have to give it a follow so I can keep up with it!

    1. Hey Crissy <3 I'm so so glad you found my blog :)) and so happy to have you here!! Thank you for the kind words, you made my day! A new hair colour sounds exciting! What colour would you go for? I haven't changed my hair colour in years, and sometimes I feel like I'd like to try something really crazy/different from now. Maybe after this positive experience I might be ready to do that too... Someday hehe :)
Thanks for popping by lovely <33 hope you've us a great week so far! Mwah! Xxx

  12. Welcome back, love! Good to see your gorgeous self again. Also, your hair look wonderful! I didn't really have any bad experience except for the parts when my hair ended up cut a bit not in the style I wanted but I never made a big deal out of it. For some reasons, I'm not very attached with my hair. So I didn't regret cutting them :)
