My weekly workouts

Today I've decided to talk to you about one of my favourite things in the whole wide world, which is by no doubt working out! I know autumn is the time to get cozy under a blanket and it's definitely another fave thing to do during this season, as I mentionet in my 5 fave autumnal things post. I could definitely spend a good few hours just doing nothing without guilt. But the reality remains that you need to exercise and I'm certain we all know why.

I want to share my weekly workouts because, first of all, it's a great way for me to keep track of what I've done and possibly get some feedback from you guys. I'm always telling you how much I love working out, but I feel like I've never really opened up how much I actually spend time exercising. Secondly, I hope this motivates you in some way to be more active. I know there are a lot of people out there who spend way more time on working out than me and I honestly would love to move all day everyday, but I also have a job, which I intend to keep haha. Keeping that in mind, I'm super proud I managed to go to the gym on four different days plus do one workout at home. So here's what I got up to last week:

Monday: It was my birthday so I walked from the bus station to the cinema haha.

Tuesday: 30 min TRX class & 1hr BodyJam class

Wednesday: 30 min swimming & 1 hr bodyweight training class

Thursday: 45 min gymnastics class

Friday: 1 hr barre class

Saturday: rest

Sunday: 2 hr bodyweight training at home (blog photo shoot in the forest)

TOTAL: 6 hours 45 minutes of exercising on  5 different days during 7 different workouts

Myfavourite workout from last week was probably the BodyJam class. BodyJam belongs to the famous Les Mills fitness class family and during the class you get to dance and shake your heart out during two different choreographs. I love how much you just have to focus on each movement and concentrate on what you're doing at that exact moment. It's the best way to forget about all your troubles and just enjoy yourself for an hour. It's also a bit like a non-alcoholic party, just better :)

I've only just quite recently added swimming into my weekly routines as I get to go to the swimming pool for free nowadays (thanks to my job <3). It's rather different compared to all the other workouts I usually do, but I've also been enjoying it very much. And different is good! As a matter of fact, your body should receive loads of different stimulus to keep in good condition, which is why I don't go even to the same fitness classes many times a week.

The TRX class was very interesting as I love using the TRX straps as part of my gym routine. The class gave me loads of new ideas on how to use the straps. The reason why I don't think I'll take the class again before they change the routine is that I don't really get excited about classes where you don't move to any rhythm. I get a lot of energy from music and in classes where you just do one movement for example for 30 seconds and then change to the next one, it's not quite enough for me.

How many times do you workout per week? Or do you count hours?
How do you keep track of how much you've exercised?
How often do you try out new ways to workout?

Hope you all have a super lovely weekend <3

  2. I've been all about barre workouts, but I have to do cardio for the fat loss effect. I usually do the treadmill. Cecilio and his sister signed us up for a 5k in December (we will be wearing Santa suites!) and I'm so excited! It's going to be a fun way to end the year with a bang and start off next year getting fit!

  3. First of all, happy belated birthday!!! I hope you had the most amazing day. <3 And honestly, this post is just so inspirational, thank you for sharing! As you know, I'm way more of a workout-at-home kind of gal, but I don't do it as often as I probably should do. I actually cycle to work these days, which amounts to about 40 minutes cycling per day - which I'd say is not too bad considering I do it 5 days a week! <3 And I know what you mean about swimming, it's definitely a different kind of workout but I do enjoy it! No swimming pools nearby, though. :( Thanks for sharing this fab inspiration! Kisses. <3 <3 <3 x x x
