40 ways to PLANK

The plank, hover, front hold, abdominal bridge... A loved child has many names, as the old Finnish saying goes. Whether you love or don't love doing the plank, you can't argue with the amazing effect it has on your body. It primarily strengthens your abdominals, back and shoulders but depending on the way you do the movement it can also actually strengthen your whole body. You also don't even need to hold the plank for very long for you to start feeling the effect. However some people seem to be crazy about the movement and have spent over 8 hours in an elbow plank. I guess that's one way of spending your day.

Because of the effectiveness of the plank I use it in all my workouts and fitness classes that I instruct. I workout 4 to 5 times a week so things could get a bit too boring for me if I did the plank the same way every time. There are loads of different ways to make the plank more interesting, but one evening I quickly thought of 40 different variations and decided to share them with you. Watch the video below for all my ideas!

If you come up with any other variations, let me know! :)
Do you plank?

  6. So happy to see another fitness post from you, babe! You know that you are my fitness guru and such an inspiration. :) <3 Over eight hours in a plank position?! That's amazing! I don't think I could last eight seconds, haha! :P To be fair, I actually really enjoy doing planks as you can vary them in so many different ways, as you have shown, and I think they're pretty good for beginners like myself. :) This video is super helpful and I will definitely be using it for my next workout. <3 Thank you so much for sharing! I hope that you're well, and I hope that you have the best weekend ahead, beauty! xoxo <3
